Anyone here a fan of the old classic Christmas movie " The Christmas Story " ?

Well, I found an interview with the guy (all grown up now) that played the role of the little boy in this 'Christmas Story' movie. His name is Peter Billingsley and he played the role of 'Ralphie' in the movie. He is still in the movie business it seems:

In the movie, the only present Ralphie wanted for Christmas was a Red Ryder BB gun.

I think this is about my least favorite Christmas movie of all time. Some TV channels play this movie continuously during the holiday season and I never watch it. It just seems so sad to me.

Anyone a fan of this movie??

I can't stand the movie, mainly because TBS runs it for 24 hours every year. Maybe the movie is okay, but it's not good enough to merit that, in my opinion.

Yeah, I never understood the point of marathoning it. Certainly not one of my favorites, and even if ti were anyone would get tired of seeing it repeated over and over and over on multiple channels.

Also, the guy who played the part of Ralphie's dad starred as lead role in a late 70's campy paranormal/sci-fi mystery-horror TV series Kolchak: The Night Stalker, which only aired for one season.

I have seen some of the "Night Stalker" shows in re-runs and thought it was actually pretty good, albeit a bit campy or funny, sometimes even downright scary. I do like the actor who played this role, his name was Darren MacGavin or something like that. However, I don't like the role he played in "The Christmas Story" as it was too mean spirited, in my opinion.
