Gi-Le-Farg here is the result of one of my few sprite recoloring projects. This particular image was created many years go because Gi-Le-Farg is one of, if not the, only versions of this monster family that does not appear on screen in Phantasy Star IV in this format. The wizards of the Air Castle and D-Elm-Lars, from the Dezoris climate installation, both meet the party in sprite form before battle. This particular image was recolored from D-Elm-Lars.

There is something about it I like, Also, I think that you do see a Gi-Le-Farg sprite, they fight De-Vars in the Strenght, also, there is a group from the D-Elm-Lars that does not have a walking sprite, the Le-Faw-Gan.

Where do you makes these sprites ? I also have a few more suggestions you could do, a Greneris or Radhin small sprite, the're a Juza recolour, and he has a Non-Battle sprite, you could also do a Guilgenova or Law-Addmer or Culla-Bellr, or a Gicefalgue sprite, but where did you make the sprite ?

I basically just extracted the D-Elm-Lars sprite from a screenshot and painted over the colors in Paint Shop Pro. You could use any number of freeware graphics editors to accomplish the same thing. GIMP, if it's still around, was a pretty good one.

Paint shop pro! You said Paint shop pro!!

*Obscure software user high five!*

I still use Paint Shop Pro 6 for everything I do, never felt I needed to encumber myself with the ever-loading (not to mention expensive) Photoshop for all my little modification projects.

Your sprite is so tinyyyy! I feel like I could squish Gi-Le-Farg with my Aero-Le-Finger.

*high five!*

Yeah, I've always preferred PSP when it comes to image work. :) Photoshop is way too bulky for the little stuff I did like this sprite. And yeah, crazy expensive! No way I'm paying that much for an image editor.

I started out with PSP 4, then upgraded to PSP 7 later. Used that for years and years and it was wonderful. Had some OS issues with it later though, so I had to mess around with other programs for a while. I was lucky enough to catch PSP X3 on a major sale a few years ago; only spent about $10 on it, when the regular price was about $60 or $70. So now PSP X3 is what I use and plan to keep for a long time to come.

Heh, yeah, tiny sprite. Back when I first made this one (late 1990s probably) screen resolutions tended to be a lot smaller, so it didn't look as small. A lot of my old sprites had that problem.
