Theatre Snacks

Postby Silver_Surfer1 » Mon Mar 22, '10, 4:29 pm

What do you usually get to eat when you go to see a movie at the theatre? Popcorn? Candy? Something else?
Do you wish there were more healthier snacks available to eat while watching movies at the theatre?

Here's an interesting article about theatre snacks and what some stars prefer:

http://www.usatoday.com/life/movies/new ... ands_N.htm

The idea of sprinkling M&M's or Mild Duds over buttered popcorn is a new one to me. Has anyone here ever tried it?????

If there were more healthier snacks available at the theatres, what are some things you would like to see there?

I generally go for plain old popcorn with butter and a coke. Everything else is too expensive in my opinion. Theaters tend to charge a lot more for things like candy than they really should.

Nothing. I tend to concentrate on the movie. Besides, it makes annoying sound.

I believe many of these snacks contain carbs... not good carbs, but high glycaemic index bad carbs. :yikes: If I'm in desperate need of a snack, dry roasted peanuts suit me just fine.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. - C. I wish my local theater had an icee machine. :( If they did, I'd get one every time I go there. I haven't had an icee in forever.

I usually just buy popcorn, a drink, and sneak in a lot of candy.

I usually get nothing. Tickets are already really expensive, and the food at the theater is ridiculously expensive. I don't really like popcorn that much, anyway. If I get a drink I'll run the risk of needing to use the restroom during the movie, so that's a no-go, too.

Is there a Regal Cinemas in your neck of the woods? The ones in my area have those icees.

Tanith, I concur regarding popcorn; I don't really care for it. UNLESS it is caramel pop corn, that is. :hyper:

No, we only have a Carmike Cinema around here. It's just three screens too. This little town couldn't support anything more than that.
