Phantasy Star: Fringes of Algo

A four page article in The World of Phantasy Star discusses the evolution of certain character archetypes in the classic Phantasy Star series and the relationships between the characters who embody those archetypes. On the upper part of page 30, this article covers Odin and Rudo: the silent, strong riflemen. The full text of this portion of the article is displayed in this image. Rudo is represented by the standard profile artwork often seen in other publications, but Odin has a less common illustration. This drawing provides more visual similarities between the two characters than one might see in other artwork.

That was my reaction when I first saw it, too. It's very different from most Phantasy Star art, isn't it? The Lutz image that's coming up soon is almost as bad.
