The World of Phantasy Star: Page 28 - Alis and Myau

A four page article in The World of Phantasy Star discusses the evolution of certain character archetypes in the classic Phantasy Star series and the relationships between the characters who embody those archetypes. On page 28 of the book, this article covers Alis, Rolf, and Chaz: the sword wielding main characters. This drawing of a happy Alis holding Myau is used as an illustration for the article. It captures the close relationship between these two companions well. The style of this artwork is very similar to illustrations in the Phantasy Star manual, although those lacked color.

Rolf and Chaz are also pictured on the page, but they are omitted from this excerpt. Their illustrations are stock character artwork often seen in other publications.

This book has some nice images on it, though it has more text than images. I think I´d be more interesting to see it translated than the Compendium itself.

Yeah, I was really surprised by the amount of text when I received my copy. I was expecting much more art and less text, more along the lines of the Compendium. I'm glad that much of the art wasn't stuff also in that other book, though.

Humor aside, I'm surprised they didn't include Rhys. There's a similar feature on Wren that references PS III. But then I guess they didn't want to include Ayn, Nial, Crys, and so on.
