Yeah, it took them long enough to get some light weight equipment in development. These soldiers are out there risking their lives; the last thing they need is to be carrying dead weight. I'm all for anything that makes their jobs easier.
Although, I hope they got permission to use all the Batman references. I saw a patch in site's one version of this story. The patch had an actual Batman logo on it. The last thing the US government needs is a lawsuit against it for unauthorized trademark usage.
