Robocop redo

It looks like there is going to be an updated "Robocop" movie very soon:

I'm not very familiar with this actor who has been picked to play the part of Robocop, but I hope he's a good actor and I hope the new film does justice to it's predecessors.

It might be fun to see Robocop lose a little bit of his usual stiffness and see just how they update him.

Eh, I don't like the idea of updating Robocop. His old design works fine, IMO. Yeah, he's slow and stiff, but that's part of what sets him apart from other movie cyborgs. I have a feeling the new design will probably do away with the helmet so the actor's face can be shown more. That'll really change the character, because the dynamic of his conflict in dealing with his past life will have to be reworked entirely.

I don't really see the point in remaking a good movie.

What does everyone else think about this latest addition to the new "Robocop" movie cast?

Excellent choice ! Even if 've only watched one episode of Dr House, I like this actor/singer.
But where is the OCP ? Now it's OMNI ?

In the old movies, the O in OCP stands for Omni. I don't remember what the C and P stand for.

House as the head of OCP? That'll be interesting. I never watched much of the show, but from the snippets I did see I believe it can pull the character off easily.

OCP = Omni Consumer Products.

There's a picture of the new ED-209 at http://www.omnicorp.com/ now. It's an updated design, but still very recognizable. We can only hope that Robocop himself gets a similar treatment.
