Yeah, the algorithms haven't done many favors for where I work. We're a small research center and paying to promote posts on Facebook isn't exactly the best use of limited funds. But you know, work with what you got. Sometimes, small is good. Sometimes, small allows for a tighter, more engaged community than a big one, and often a friendlier community (like, I dunno, this site

I find that online, big isn't always better. The bigger and more open you get, often, the nastier it gets. I think twitter is the grade A example, where I think niceness and civility go to die a bloody, violent death. And certainly a project like this, unfortunately, would attract plenty of the less pleasant elements of the online atheist community if it got big enough.
