Does anyone remember the old sega channel? It was a little cartridge that would link you to a sever with 50+ games. It's how I found Phantasy Star IV. -eye glaze over- Ahh.... The good old days.

The sega channel was like.. a little peice of heaven that was hand delivered from God. The games changed every month and you got around 100 games every time it updated. You could even save your games! It was fabulous.

I've heard about it back in the day but it never interested me. I guess Gametap is kind of like that? I'm not even sure how Gametap works. They have a crap load of games though.

It was sort of like gametap. Though it was comprised of Genesis games and you had to pay $12 a month. I just remember counting down the days each month until the game lineup changed. At the last day I'd wake up at 8:00 and play the new games before I had to go to school each morning. =]

I never heard about the Sega Channel until I got internet access. Of course it had been long since dead by then. In retrospect, I'm sorry I missed out on it. It would have been a great way to try out more games on the Genesis, especially those the local rental places didn't carry.

Probably something similar, though I don't really know much about Gametap either. I can never get their list of games to load, so I don't even know what they have beyond what's in all the commercials.

I missed out on it, too. :( I doubt I could have gotten my parents to spring for it, so it's probably just as well. I wonder if there were any games that were exclusive to the Sega Channel?
