A new poster for the upcoming film "Batman 3: The Dark Knight Rises" has been released:

http://movies.msn.com/movies/article.as ... &gt1=28101

Shucks, no Catwoman in the poster, and very little of anything else either. :grumpy:

It took me a few minutes to "get" the poster, if you know what I mean.

What's your opinion on the poster....is it a fitting tribute for the movie, or not?

Yeah, it took me a second to realize what they were doing with the visuals on that poster. I expected some kind of symbolism thanks to one of the posters for the previous movie, but still not quite like that.

As for if it is fitting... well, it depends on the movie plot. As a Batman fan, this poster brings to mind a comic story called "No Man's Land" from several years ago. In that story, a big earthquake hits Gotham - so big, that the city is evacuated and cut off from the remainder of the country. The visuals in this poster make me wonder of the movie will borrow any elements from that.

Found this article online this morning. It speaks of the "similarity" of the recently released "Batman" movie poster above and a poster for the Leonardo Dicaprio movie "Inception":

Do you see any similarities in these posters??

I just can't see it.

The only similarity I see is that both have skyscrapers. That's hardly an invention of the Inception poster. They're trying to read too much into this just because Nolan worked on Inception. If you ask me, the Dark Knight Rises poster has a stronger resemblance to one for the first Spider-Man movie. It at least used a similar viewing angle on the skyscraper scene.

Saw a story online with actor Christian Bale aka "Batman: The Dark Knight Rises" in which the vibes kinda come off that this is his last time playing Batman. I wonder if he wasn't too happy with the role, or he's just had enough after 3 movies and several years of it, or what?

http://movies.msn.com/movies/article.aspx?news=685886

Do you think he could be persuaded to do any more Batman films?

Personally, I think he's a great actor but I didn't much care for the darker Batman, although I've enjoyed all the movies and I know he was just acting out the written script, etc.

Which would you like to see next....the Dark Knight continue or would you rather see a lighter side of Batman, etc.??

Since this may be his last shot at playing Batman, I wonder if he will be up for any awards with this latest movie??

Also, if they've finished shooting the movie, I wonder when it will be released/premiered to the public??

As I understand it, this is the last Batman film the director is planning to make as well. The next Batman movie will likely be yet another origin retelling to reboot the film franchise. Maybe they'll bring it closer in line with the new Superman movie and Green Lantern. After seeing how well Marvel's shared movie universe is doing, I'll be surprised if Warner Bros. doesn't make a stronger push for their own shared universe leading up to a Justice League movie.

Dark Knight Rises is supposed to be released on July 20.

As for the Catwoman costume, I haven't been too impressed with it. It is very understated, which is a lot like the comics costume for recent years. In a way, that's a good thing. It just doesn't look as interesting as the Batman costume so far. Hopefully it will look better on the big screen.

Oh wow, I think I'm gonna like it!!!!!

What do you all think about it so far?

Are you sad, or happy, to see the Dark Night theme end with this last movie?
