Just in case Bob's greatness hasn't gotten enough recognition already, Bob Dylan was the recipient of this year's Nobel Prize in Literature in recognition of being "A great poet in the English speaking tradition." This result came against extremely long odds, but his importance to the counterculture movements of the '60s and beyond, as well as his half-century career as a singer-songwriter was judged to deserve some special recognition.

The story can be found here.

Congrats to Dylan on his receiving the award! Although I am not that big a fan of his, I do appreciate his important contribution to the music world! Very happy he won!

Heard there was some drama regarding Dylan not responding to the Nobel Prize people on his win. Did they ever get in touch with him, or did he ever respond?

And, it looks as if Mr. Dylan has finally responded to the Nobel Award win and will try to be there and accept his award.
