Getting closer to the big day of the solar eclipse! I think it is this coming Monday.

Anyone going to watch this eclipse? Have you gotten your special glasses to watch it yet?

Well, the eclipse is over here. It did not get very dark here. Kind of like in the evening just before the sun goes down. Kind of hazy, but not totally dark. Still, it was neat living through this part of history. It will come again in 2024, I think it is.

Did anyone else get to " see " the total eclipse?

Well, we got the 94% magnitude. Though it wasn't anything significant. Just a tiny sliver of a thumbnail of the sun kept our sky pretty bright.
The temperature did cool a little though. It felt more like the sun was slightly blocked by a cloud.

I had my eclipse glasses on. I don't know if PhotoBucket will let me show this, but I did manage to get this picture. It's the tiny crescent shape just below the light.

EDIT: *sigh* Okay, try right-clicking IMAGE and click view image and hope it'll show.

Basically my entire building went out to the rooftop parking lot to observe, even at only 60% magnitude here. I used the pinhole shadow method to observe, but people were passing around eclipse glasses, and I got a few views through those.
