Haven't seen AMS2 yet, but I did finally get to see ASM1. I was kind of wary of it for various reasons, but it turned out really well in my opinion. It didn't feel like a huge rehash of the previous film series as I feared, but really stands up well on it's own. Enough to make me look forward to seeing the sequel in the future, any way.
