New Atari glasses

Remembering the games of yesteryear.

New Atari glasses

Postby Silver_Surfer1 » Tue Aug 2, '11, 4:04 am

Target stores have some new drinking glass sets with designs related to some old classic Atari games:

This is the only pic I could find at the moment so I'm not sure if these are the only Atari games used or if there might be others. If I come across any different ones, I'll post it in this thread.

Anyway, this is a great collectibe find, especially for the video game fan.

That’s pretty cool, I wouldn't mind the centipede one!

They're all certainly very colorful, aren't they? They look great. I bet the demand for them will skyrocket if those Asteroids or Missile Command movies get released. I'm not a big fan of Centipede the game, but the glass looks great.

I've never heard of Tempest that I can remember, though.

Yeah, I hope they come up with some more of these glasses related to other Atari games. They might sell really well with Atari fans and other video game fans.

And, if these glasses do well, then they might decide to do different glasses on other popular video games, etc.

If I buy one of these, women will lose respect for me. But, I can live with it! :)

According to the site they are not sold in stores - guess I'll have to order them online instead.

For a moment I thought Atari had developed 3D glasses to use while playing ET :p

Now THAT would be like Atari all right :)

But seriously. Atari gaming glasses. Why? What's the point? Where's the slightest relationship?

They're mostly meant for collectors. People have been collecting glassware like this for decades. There are even Super Mario Bros. glasses out there.
