Probably a suicide question to post on a Phantasy Star board, but... is Super Mario World not one of the greatest games of all time? Sound off, supporters!

Super Mario World is a great game but...Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island owns it in every way.

I consider Super Mario World one of the greatest 2-d platformers out there. It is also the second greatest game on the Super Nintendo...second to Earthbound.

I wouldn't say it's the greatest, but it is a really fun game to play. I couldn't stand Yoshi's Island, though. ;) That whining baby really set my nerves on end.

Great for sure, but not the greatest :D Will my head be chopped off now :P

It was the greatest 2D game Nintendo had (except remakes of Super Mario Bros. 3 come really close though). I still think in the long run, Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy are more epic, though.

Super Mario World is a masterpiece of video gaming, IMO. I believe it is one of the best 2d platformers out there, if not one of the best games ever.

Out of all the Mario series, it's the only one that really ever inspired me to actually beat it. However, I'm working on Galaxy as we speak.

SMW is definitely a masterpiece and I beat regularly, however I also feel the same way in regards to Chrono Trigger. Most would argue with me about it but it definitely impacted me the same was Phantasy Star did.

It was my first game ever, so I'll always have a soft spot for it. ;P

Thought I would just bump this topic up with an interesting article I just read about a glitch found in the Super Mario World game: ... 18244.html

Has anyone here tried this??
