Suryia the orangutan, a resident of the Institute of Greatly Endangered and Rare Species, has a new best friend: Roscoe, a stray Bluetick hound. The two bonded instantly and now spend several hours a day together; Suryia even takes Roscoe for walks around the enclosure. Their friendship is considered unusual; apparently dogs are usually wary of primates. Check out this adorable picture of them together: Suryia and Roscoe.

There is also a video clip of their story, Suryia the Orangutan and Roscoe the Dog - Friends at First Sight, apparently soon to be featured on Oprah.

That's really cool. I like the bit about the elephant, too. I guess that dog must be one that is exceptionally friendly.

Ah, that's a sweet story. Animals are amazing sometimes. I'm glad these two have bonded in friendship. We, as humans, can learn so much from watching this.

That sounds like a very interesting Oprah show. I wonder what else they will have on there. :hyper:
