Found this interesting tidbit in the news regarding "Star Wars":

I can understand this, but it's a shame that the fans weren't able to celebrate the "Star Wars" movies. :(

They should have done in that in private, not a public establishment with so many people. It's a shame and they might not have been hurting anything, but that's the way the law works sometimes.

Star Wars characters, and the Queen of England, will have their images on some new currency coins in the South Pacific Island state of Niue:

I never understood the attraction of coins with characters printed on them. Not just for Star Wars, but I've seen it for other things in the past. I'm sure some collectors will go for it anyway.

Bob Anderson has died at the age of 89. Anderson fought some of the light saber scenes as Darth Vader in some of the "Star Wars" movies. Interesting fact that this was kept secret for quite awhile.

Condolences to Mr. Anderson's family, and thanks to him for helping to make those light saber fight scenes soooo good!!!! :tombstone: :rose:

Hip, hip, hooray!!! "Star Wars" celebrates their 35th anniversary as of yesterday, May 25!! The movie came out 35 years ago in 1977!!

For such an important anniversary (the 35th), I heard very little about this in the news yesterday. Did anyone else here remember the day?

I heard nothing about it at all. I guess the 35th isn't as spectacular as the 25th or a round number. I am rather surprised it went by so quietly, though. It seems like a perfect opportunity to push the latest DVD or Blu-ray releases of the films.

The new upcoming "Star Wars" movie has a new director in J.J. Abrams:

Hmmm, if he's done "Star Trek" then he should do fairly well with "Star Wars", don't ya think??

I really liked his Trek so I am more hopeful of this new Star Wars Trilogy.
