I haven't seen it yet. Will do so Tuesday.

I am not expecting it to be as good as Empire Strikes Back; that's a really high bar to hop. Coworkers have said it's (almost) as good as A New Hope, which is good to hear. (It's better than the prequels, which is also good!)

Me: (having seen the last movie the director's done) Please tell me this movie's better than Star Trek: Into Darkness.
Lindsay the Coworker: (immediately) Yes. Much better.
Me: Thank God. Of course, I'm going into it knowing [OH MY GOD WHY DID I SPOIL THIS] so I hope Abrams gets all the hate mail just because of that scene. ^_^

Well, excuse me while I defy all laws of logic and common sense and do it anyway.

Saw it last night at one of the two area 3D iMax theaters (there are benefits to living in a large city area). Definitely better than the prequels. No question there. How does it compare to the original trilogy? I'd say not QUITE as good, generally, but still very much worth your time to see.

There's my spoiler-free review, from someone who isn't a mega Star Wars fan (my family has always geared more towards Star Trek) but is certainly aware of it, what it's about and its cultural influence.

Been reading some interesting articles online about the possibility of actor Hayden Christensen possibly returning for another "Star Wars" movie:

https://www.yahoo.com/movies/hayden-chr ... 00053.html

What does everyone think about this? Is there any hint or clue of anything like this in the new movie? I still haven't gotten to see it yet, but can hardly wait to do so.

Just wanted to let everyone know that it is almost time for the latest "Star Wars" movie to be released on DVD. I think it comes out April 5th (Tuesday). So, if you haven't seen it yet or just want to get a copy for your collection, it won't be long.

Wednesday, May 04, 2016 and today is "Star Wars Day", or it might otherwise be known as "May The 4th Be With You" Day!

Found some interesting articles related to "Star Wars" and thought others might be interested in seeing them also, so links are below. First is a "Where Are They Now" type thing and then a "Star Wars" quiz to see just how much you know or remember about the movies. I only got about 5 right in the quiz, so I need to watch those movies again!!

Enjoy the day today everyone and " May the 4th be with you!".

Many "Star Wars" fans are mourning the death of one of the original "Star Wars" character actors, Kenny Baker, as R2-D2 in the films. He was 81. Condolences to his family.

The new Star Wars: Rogue One movie is out and doing very well at the box office, which is no surprise. Has anyone here seen it yet? If so, what did you think of it?

Very, very sad news. Actress Carrie Fisher, who played the role of Princess Leia in "Star Wars", has passed away after suffering a major heart attack a few days ago. She was a fan favorite as Princess Leia, and she also starred in several other movies as well. She was also a very accomplished author having written several books. She was the daughter of actress Debbie Reynolds and actor/singer Eddie Fisher. She had recently completed a role in the upcoming "Star Wars VIII" movie. She was 60 years young.

She will be missed and always remembered. Condolences to her family. :tombstone: :rose:
