Sad to report another death in the "Star Trek" family. Actor Aron Eisenberg, who played the character of Nog on "Star Trek: The Next Generation" has died. He was 50 years young. Not exactly sure what the cause of death is yet but from what I read he had suffered with various medical issues for a few years.

Condolences to his family and the "Star Trek" family. :tombstone: :rose:

He looks so different without his "Star Trek" makup and costume.

Nog is one of the many, many characters that made Star Trek: Deep Space Nine awesome. Over seven years, he goes from barely-literate juvenile delinquent to model Starfleet officer and war hero, and by the 25th century and Star Trek Online's events, Captain Nog is one of the most famous captains in Starfleet.

Upon Aron's passing, players congregated to Quark's Bar on Deep Space Nine to hold a torchlight vigil.

This isn't in the game yet-- the developers said it didn't make it to the patch coming later today, so for now it's on the Holodeck test server. (As usual, To Absent Friends is visible on the Mezzanine level of Earth Spacedock, the Great Hall at Qo'Nos's First City, and the balcony area of New Romulus Command.)

Another "Star Trek" alumni to add to the list of those who have passed and are no longer with us. D. C. Fontana, who was a writer on the original "Star Trek" tv show has died. She was 80.

Condolences to her family and the "Star Trek" family. :tombstone: :rose:

And more sad news as we mourn the death of another alumni who was in the original "Star Trek" tv show. Actor Robert Walker, Jr., has died at the age of 79. He was in the "Star Trek" episode "Charlie X". One of the best episodes, I think. He was in many more movies and tv roles throughout his acting career.

Condolences to his family and the "Star Trek" family. :tombstone: :rose:

So very, very sad to read tonight that actor Rene Auberjonois has died. He was 79. He died of Lung Cancer. He played the role of Odo in "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine". He was also in the tv series "Boston Legal" and "Benson" among many other tv series, movies, etc. A very, very talented actor.

Condolences to his family and to the "Star Trek" family. :tombstone: :rose:

Rene's name was added to the physical model of To Absent Friends in Star Trek Online. (It's not in the game yet, though. Rene's name was added, then removed when the art director realized he misspelled Auberjonois "despite checking five times to make sure I got it right." So he has to redo the memorial's model...)

D.C. Fontana and Robert Walker Jr. have also been added, though they're on the second dialogue page when you interact with the memorial plaque.

Thanks for letting us know, Snorb. It is good that the new names have been added to the memorial. An honor and recognition they truly deserve.

Also, just wanted to post this new trailor I saw for the upcoming "Pickard" tv show:
