Hmm. That's interesting, as if I remember correctly, you live well south of where I do. So they'd certainly arrive earlier, and they also aren't even migrant in some of the southernmost parts of the country. Maybe you just haven't seen them yet.
My favorite part of spring is certainly, of course, the bird migration from late March to mid May. I went to a program at the public library last night about the bird migration in Massachusetts. We can definitely see some interesting birds in Massachusetts during the migration only (though a good number also stay to breed until fall migration), and of course, the Atlantic coast is one of the major flyways. With warming weather, I'm certainly hoping to get out a couple times during April, at least, though May becomes trickier as that's when classes ramp up for finals.
