I wanted to save my 500th post for something semi-special, so here goes. A few days ago, I was at an arcade on a rainy day during vacation, and I noticed something about the Neo Geo that I've never seen before.
I'm not sure if you can tell from the blurriness, but underneath the control panel, there are two headphone jacks and a slot for a memory card. I was already aware of the memory card from playing around with an emulator. You could use it to pretty much save your progress in a game if you were out of quarters. It's pretty useful for SNK's brutally difficult fighters (especially Art of Fighting 2) because you can resume at the final boss if you got that far. Anyway, I had no idea that there were even headphone jacks at all. I decided to plug in my headphones and gave Samurai Shodown II and Art of Fighting 1 a go. It ended up being a little too loud for my tastes, but still pretty cool.
