Sears, Kmart store closings

Postby Silver_Surfer1 » Fri Apr 22, '16, 6:23 pm

Sears and Kmart stores are closing over 70 of their stores currently located in the USA. This follows numerous store closings in the past as well.

Our local Kmart was not on the list so it is safe for now.

Their are no K-Marts in the Saginaw, MI region. We a few at some point. I know the one closed down ages ago. The other one closed down a few years ago after their was a fight with the building's owner after the roof caved in during a massive snow storm. The reality is both of these stores are long past their prime. The last Kmart I was in was in Midland (and that one is on the list). It was in bad shape. Nothing lasts forever.

Good thing I got out when I had the chance!
Read my social stuff!
The ramblings of an oldish geezer on Facebook.
@SnorbESnorb on Twitter. The "E" stands for "Everything."

Play my games!
The ArrrPG - A game I made about being a pirate. This be a first draft, matey! Though it plays just fine, clap yer eyes on th' eventual Revised an' Expanded Edition and you'll be pleased, by thunder!

Nakama: A Card Game of Magical Girls - A completely un-playtested card game about being a magical girl.

Well, excuse me while I defy all laws of logic and common sense and do it anyway.

More Sears/Kmart store closings announced this week:

Thankfully, I did not see the one in our town on the list so I guess we get to keep it awhile longer. Although since they got rid of their video games in the electronics dept. a few years ago we rarely visit there any more.

Even more Sears and Kmart store closings announced this week.

Sad to say that the Kmart in our town is on the list of those expected to close soon. It is not a complete surprise as I have been expecting it since they first started closing stores a few years ago.

Only bad thing is that now the only " major " store like this we will have in town is Walmart! Which isn't a bad thing, but it was nice having a choice of where to go and shop sometimes.

Saginaw Region is nice in that we have two walmarts, two Meijers, a Target, and a few other stores. The big problem is that the east side of Saginaw doesn't have any major food stores anymore. So to get food you have to cross the river.

I haven't seen a K-mart in my local area in a long time. Shame that this is happening though.
