Bird Drawing - Common Raven

Postby Wolf Bird » Fri Mar 4, '11, 1:41 pm

For the sake of the upcoming Muskies, I'm uploading all my old bird artwork to the galleries. Some of it I posted a while ago, before the revamp that created the galleries. This is my first ever drawing, a pencil sketch of a Common Raven. All I have to say...holy crap, I've come a long way! :hypnotized:

Last finished Pokémon game: Shield

Other gaming goals: completing a Living Pokedex (minus some event Pokes) and going through at least 1 game per generation

It is surely less elaborated than the recent ones, but it is very good for a first drawing. I'd never be able to draw something like that even after a month of practice.
In fact, I'm only able to draw stickmen :p

Yeah, exactly. I was pleased with it for my first, and it's almost cool to really be able to see how far I've come. :)

Indeed you have. CW is our the Fringes Resident Ornithologist and Ness fan.

It's really interesting to revisit one's roots every now and then, to see how you've developed your skill over time. You started out quite well with this one. It's a much better bird than I could draw, and I did take art classes back in high school. I can really see some of the refinements in your later technique from a comparison with a more recent work.

Bumping up this beautiful bird drawing so everyone can enjoy it again.

Everytime I see one of these birds I think of Edgar Allen Poe.
