eBay cuts 1600 jobs

Is it just me, or is anyone else wondering why a business is cutting 1600 jobs and buying up one or more other companies / investments, etc., at the same time? :hmm:

eBay has certainly changed in the last few years. Question is though, is it a change for the better, or for the worse???????

It's not at all like it used to be when I first used it years ago. You could find some really neat, rare stuff for great prices in those days. It used to be more of the little guy selling stuff from the storage closet, now it's more about the big businesses using it for an online storefront.

I'm not sure why eBay would be cutting any jobs. I suppose they must be making more things automated now. They certainly do love buying up other companies, though. I guess they'll be combining this other payment place with Paypal.
