Using her above human agility, Rika makes a sprinting leap for the Eclipse Torch as Lashiec holds it high. He was planning to break the globe and extinguish the torch to keep it from Lutz and company. Rika was able to pull off a last minute save that would make Shir proud, signaling that Lashiec is truly beaten.

On a serious note, I always thought this was weird.. The flame is strong enough to destroy the carnivorous trees, something that the extense heat of Foi and Flaeli could not do, and yet its just cool enough to be able to be grasped by human hands.

That's magic for you, I guess. When I was preparing this image, I had a similar thought, though. The torch is supposed to destroy evil stuff - don't you think it should have had an effect on Lashiec himself, too? He's got to be just as "unclean" as the Trees.

I guess you must be right. It's too bad none of the games let us take Lashiec's armor and use it. I bet it would give some nice stat bonuses.
