Metroid 2 Remake finished

So, yeah.

A fan project that has managed to actually avoid getting shut down was Another Metroid 2 Remake, which has been going on as an attempt to redo the somewhat neglected member of the Metroid Family, Metroid 2: The Return of Samus, which was originally for the Game Boy. Unlike even more fan projects, this one has actually been completed.

And it's really strong.

I can't say for sure right now whether it's as strong of a remake as Zero Mission- I have much more experience with the original Metroid than I did with Metroid 2, but this thing seems to take the same sort of track as the La-Mulana remake did. Friendlier in some ways, meaner in others, runs at smooth 60.

Of course, there's not telling how long it'll stay up in days like these, so, get it while it's hot?

I already grabbed it, so if (read: when) Nintendo takes it down, I'll still have it. I like the Metroid franchise a lot, but I really don't like the original Metroid 2, so it'll be interesting to see how this holds up.

Yep, found out about it myself.

Of course that doesn't mean it still can't be found for download elsewhere- Nintendo just locked the door after the horses had bolted.
