Interesting story. Much like Test Flight without the madness. The story is a bit focused on the technical aspects of the flight, but the last lines offer something beautiful: after all the technical aspects, the copilot has the chance to admire our beautiful planet from the outerspace for the first time. I guess it was an unique experience.

Yeah. I still remember the first time I put a Deltaglider into orbit. Earth really is beautiful, even on a computer screen.

Very vivid! You know, when I first read "Hydrofoil," I was sure I wouldn't like the narration at all, but guess what? You're really good at writing from this viewpoint. The dialogue is placed at just the right intervals, to give it a story feel and not an activity log. Well, that, plus your writing here is not dry in the least. Also, your dialogue is really enjoyable. The co-pilot is a colorful character, which adds some flavor to the story. I especially liked the ending; I was imagining the beauty of being in space along with "you."
