Wow, that was really cool! Lots of old classics, lots of nostalgia. Black Belt, The Ninja, Shinobi... even Budokan. I love the way you portray them with a nostalgia perspective, of classics which are meant to be forgotten...

Sad end indeed. SMS games need more love. They don´t deserve to fall into oblivion.

Very entertaining story and meeting between these two. Loved all the nostalgia references to the past video games, the Turtles, Mortal Kombat, etc.. Sad ending, although I can see why two heroes such as these would prefer an ending like that after what they had lived through and albeit their recent discussion, etc. In one respect it seems almost like an easy way out for two people who could have tried another way to make their lives and their memories turn out better somehow, and in another respect it seems like a fitting ending that a hero would certainly do, or atleast try, if they thought all was lost.

Very well written story! :)

SS1, the bitter irony is that the story is set in the late 1990s and, had they chosen to continue weathering out the storm, they would've eventually seen how things like communities, web sites, and emulators would've kept them and the games they represent from falling into complete obscurity.
