Rate A Record

Here's a fun new "tune" topic, I hope. We pick a song and everyone can tell their opinion of the song and rate it on a scale of 1-5.

1 - Excellent
2 - Very Good
3 - Average / Fair
4 - Poor
5 - Get rid of it! - It stinks!

Of course since we can't all hear the same song at the same time online, it will have to be a song that many or most of us are already familiar with to some degree. If you remember the song or happen to have it in your music collection, then listen to it, or remember how it goes as best you can, and decide what your rating will be. You can also post an explanation of why you gave it that particular rating, if you choose to do so.

So, let's try it and see how it goes.

The first song is:

The original "Star Trek" tv show theme song.

Hm... I'd say 3 on that. It is memorable, but hardly great. It was good for the purpose of being a TV show theme, but it lacks impact beyond that.

2, I guess. Who doesn't know this song when they hear it?

I must give this "Star Trek" Theme Song a " 1 " for Excellent!

It brings to mind so many good things - Kirk, Spock, The Enterprise, Tribbles ( ), Dr. McCoy, Scotty, etc., etc., etc. It has a nice rhythm to it and is soothing to listen to. Plus, it just makes you think of space and the final frontier and what could be out there!


One more note about this game that I forgot to mention above. I will wait a day or two before posting a new or different song/record here in this thread, so everyone will have ample time to vote or "rate" the current song/record, if they choose.

I give it a 5. Really, if I hear that terrible screeching sound one more time, I may throw up.

Okay, it's been a few days, so let's have a new song to rate. How about this one:

The Mortal Kombat Theme Song

I'll give it a 3. I remember that it was all right, being not that good, but not bad either...so it lies somewhere in the middle, as I'm somewhat neutral on this.

Put me down for a 3 on this one too. I don't remember it very well at all. I know I used to think it was okay, but I wouldn't recognize it if I heard it today.

Another one I like. I give "Mortal Kombat" song a " 1 " Excellent. Love the beat and the force of the music. It really gets me going.

I'll say 2 for this. I really like it for the spoken parts. I just like the way they sound.
