Phantasy Star Portable 2 Story line change

Hi I am a PSP player before and I have managed to save a hunter from Phantasy star portable 1 a lvl 70+ hunter.
I have the habbit of not completing RPGs immediately - so that wasn't a CLEARED game.
that is what I used to import in the part 2 and I got "veteran Guardian" title now here are my questions (2 parts):

1)is there any difference in the storyline when you import a player since I notice so far that even if you are "veteran guardian" basically the npc do not recognize you as one.

2) is there a difference when you import a CLEARED PSP1 game vs impoirting a halfway completed PSP1 savefile to PSP2?
