Hello all. I'm new here at psalgo.com and I thought I'd share a project that I've been working on for the last 19 months. It's a reworked version of PSIV, yet with a twist. Alys is the main character in here, and the storyline shifts from Chaz's POV to Alys'. As you can imagine, there are several changes in the storyline,but I'm not giving anything away yet. The game is being made in RPGMaker XP.

Features: -Unique Overdrive skills for every character. -Promotions for certain chars, resulting in better stats and abilities. Bring on the Yatsuzaki class!! -Harder difficulty. The game will kick your behind so hard you won't feel it! -Alys has melee weapon specialty as well as multi-hit capabilies. Awesomeness personified! -Smoother renders of the original PS4's monster battlers. -Fully animated menus. -Full orchestral soundtrack that fits each scene perfectly. -Alternate endings. No more linearity! -Darker storyline. (Alternate route only) -Easter eggs if the player manages to train to very high levels! Very high levels... -And of course, witty dialogue and plenty of humour. This is Alys, after all...

WOW! That is amazing! I love the detail that you put into this! It looks like something done on the PS2 or Xbox! Awesome job! Look forward to seeing more of your work

Well, those screenshots are sure promising! *Has another reason to get some version of RPG maker at some point.* Oh, and welcome to the fringes!

Oh wow, the person who made this game is here? Awsome.. I ran across this project while searching for things PS style for rpgmaker awhile back and I ran across the screenshots. The game looks very promising, one of the RPG XP games I would play. I've actually got a idea for a Alys game myself, I've worked out all the storyline, and I just gotta find me the right kinda battle system and setup I wanna use before I do anything.

Are you by any chance starFantastica? Because I randomly ran across this game a few weeks ago and bookmarked the site. I noticed there was a demo and downloaded it, but haven't gotten around to playing it yet.
I can also tell a what a few of the scripts are you used. I can see the menu one by MOG. And I think you used Blizzard's DREAM script to encrypt the file correct?
Either way, awesome job so far Lyla. It looks amazing and I'm sure it is amazing at that too. Welcome to the site while I'm at it.

One and the same,Atlinsmere. >Yes,I used MogHunter's awesome scripts,but I've never heard of the DREAM script by Blizzard.About the demo,er...there's still a couple of bugs I'm working on now,and I uploaded that demo several weeks ago,and alot has changed since then.Hey Kaloes.You're an Alys fan as well,hey?She rocks man.She is simply awesome in this game. I read your fanfic,Phantasy Star IV:A Story Retold,and it's very promising.Any chance of finishing it?

Yea I'm a very huge Alys fan, and I do plan on finishing up my fanfic eventually. When I had my rough draft (so to say) as a typical post I made it pretty far into the fic so I know I have the "potential" to finish it. Just with time constraints and with my crappy wireless connection I don't wanna write anything and eventually lose my work. Now that I know someone still enjoys my writing I actually feel inspired again. I'm gonna get to writing as soon as I can.

Cool.always glad to have inspirationn around and support.Btw,it was your fanfic that actually inspired the game that you see now.Maybe we can give each other some ideas to mess around with.I actually had the idea around from as early as 2002,but I never thought it would become an actual game. That's a very flattering comment,Darkil.Thank you very much.Your support doesn't go unnoticed.
Here's some more screenies for your viewing pleasure. Stoned. The inventory screen. Going up against DF2. There are new buildings in the game,such as blacksmiths,where you can upgrade your weapons and get rare armour,as well as apothecaries,where you can get rare items such as Fluidmates(restores your HP and TP) and many more.
