Something new and interesting about PS III..

Postby Rick » Fri Mar 26, '10, 10:48 pm

It proves that the Dark Force Rolf and Co fight isn't the one that appears every 1000 years in Algo.

Rolf and Co fought the one the Earthmen brought...

This is taken from the Pscave topic about the Japanese NEW MOTA dialogue:

http://www.pscave.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2674

Now to quote it:

※ きくがよい!
われらは パルマという ほしの まつえい…
* Hark!
We are descendants of the planet Palma...

Palma, the most beautiful and shining [world] in the Algol star system...

Because they were a loving people, they had a great desire for generosity

A generous, loving people...
They were a happy people, the Palmans...

We are the descendants of those Palmans,
and so, then, are You...

* Hark!
We are descendants of the planet Palma...

On the 'Mother Planet' Palma, our ancestors lived in happiness.

However, every 1000 years with the reappearance of the so called 'Evil Force,'

our Palma was ravaged...

* Hark!
We are descendants of the planet Palma...

2000 years ago,
the heroes Ohario and Aina

challenged and made battle with the 'Evil Force' that had appeared on Palma.

However......
They lost......

* Hark!
We are descendants of the planet Palma...

With the defeat of Ohario and Aina, the people realised they had to abandon Palma.

In secret, they constructed 400 spaceships.

But then the 'Evil Force' obliterated Palma just before

LASER BEAMS OF DEATH!!!

their escape...

* Hark!
We are descendants of the planet Palma...

The 400 spaceships fled from the 'Evil Force'.

But a part [or parts] of the 'Evil Force' had already boarded our ships.

Because of this, one after the other, they were bound to go under
In the 'Era of Orakio and Laya'

our 'Alisa III' and the 'Neopalm,' were the only two ships left...

Back in town...

You had better listen to what the tellers of history have to say!

Here, in 'the quiet village of Faundauri,' You can learn our lost history.

So it seems that on Palma, Ohario Sa Riik and Aina Le Cille fought Dark Force on PALMA at the 1000 year period.

They lost the fight and organized the fleeing of Palma and the Dark Force they failed to kill slipped onto the world ship.

It seems Rolf and Co killed THAT Dark Force.

So in the japanese, Ohario/Aina lose to DF in 1284 then the Dev War in 2284, then PS 3 in 3284.

So it seems Dark Force slept until Orakio and Laya came of age and destroyed the world ships, then started a war on Alisa 3.

I want someone to do the evil Lashute part o.o

AHA! Ohario and Aina didn't have the NEI WEAPONS!

Remember, the NEI WEAPONS can only DESTROY Dark Force.

Alisa never fought a real Dark Force, she fought one LASHIEC Summoned according to the compendium.

Wow. This is fascinating.

I always wondered about the PSIII time period, and where it fit in the series.

This answers my question. :D

Well, that managed to make things even more complicated than the English version. I'm beginning to think the English version has its upside. I hate the Ohario/Aina angle and I also completely agree with Capowski about the resistance movement:

[* - Sorry, but I have to say this - the whole idea of a resistance movement expressed in the AW 1284-1285 entries is just wrong. The events that line PSII's journey are ingenious in the way they lead the players and the PCs to the necessary conclusions, not only helping them to find the strength to resist Mother Brain and the world she has created, but also to understand why they should resist. The power of the game lies in sense of solitary, independent self-discovery - being set adrift in a situation you don't completely comprehend to find your way, the truth, and even your objectives on your own. Dragging in another outside group outside that (very internal) conflict that has all the answers, watching over the heroes and orchestrating events behind the scenes is antithetical to those ideas and drags one of the best-executed, original stories in RPGdom down into Rebellion vs. Empire cliches. It's a clever way of integrating PSIII in the series, but the damage it does to PSII is far too egregious to justify it. Sorry, but as a staunch admirer of PSII, I had to say this. (Of course, the resistance group will probably be the only thing anyone will pick up on from this translation... ::sobs into her kanji dictionary::)]

Amen, Capowski, amen.

What does she think the Earthmen are? They admit to controlling everything. The Earthmen destroyed Palma and orchestrated everything.

The Profound Darkness in IV orchestrated the destruction of Parma. Dark Force instigated Lashiec and had Nero killed to make Alis do her quest.

Ps 2 doesn't create what she states. It doesn't draw you in and make you find the strength to resist mother brain. You have no choice.

Okay Tanith, I agree. You can take out the resistance because it doesn't make a difference. Ohario and Anna still FOUGHT a Dark Falz on Palma before escaping. They lost. That Dark Falze escaped on the world ships.

Rolf and Co had their battle, Anna and Ohario theirs. Rolf and co died, Ohario and Anna left Algo.

You really don't need the resistance in there at all. There is nothing to negate a conflict on Palma during PS 2.

We can take out the resistance and we have a seperate game that shoulda been made. Anna and Ohario's fight on Palma where they lose prolly cause of no Nei Weapons.
