I doubt that he turns into biomonster. He can turn into dragon, but dragons aren't biomonsters. I believe that it is some kind of magic.

Forgot about that part! When I was making my patches, I was just breezing through the dialogue!

Also, you're right about those DF monsters. It only seems to spawn those "evil" element creatures like the Xe-A-Thouls.

And in regard to where the monsters came from, I suppose there must be some way to breed monsters on board, which is supported, (maybe,) by the fact that Lyle can turn into one! BTW, how'd he do that??? That suggests some bio-engineering possibilities. Though I still want to see a Chirper farm someplace!

Weren't the Xe-A-Thouls creatures from Lassic/La-Shiec (I'm still a sucker for the names of the original PSI translation)? They stole the Eclipse Torch on his behalf. Xe-A-Thouls (although with other names) were already present during PSII, that might more support the theory they belong to Dark Force. But Lassic was probably alive during the events of PSII also, so who knows.

Some biomonsters could have spawned naturally. During PSI there were hoards of biomonsters but there was no such thing as a Biosystems Lab or Seed back then.

Oh, yeah. I suppose there would have to be some indigenous critters on the planets of Algo. It seems like every PS game starts with mentioning that monsters are suddenly growing into hoards.

Lyle could be a type of biomonster himself. Something sort of like Nei or Rika, but with dragon attributes and the transformation. I guess magic is a better answer. To carry a group of five people across water, he'd have to be a pretty big dragon.

Yeah. They're in the last dungeon of PSIII, too. Or at least the red versions were; I don't remember if the Xe-A-Thouls (who are blue or purple) were specifically.

Wouldn't have been a nice tie-in if in PSIII they'd had Musk Cats and Laerma Nuts for a flying beast? Though it would have been really interesting if they'd hinted at Lyle being a new version of Nei.

Anyway, why didn't Lyle turn into a dragon for his one-on-one with Rhys... that would've been a short battle. :punch:

I think that, by that point, Lyle had grown to like Rhys and considered him a friend. He was probably afraid that Rhys would never forgive him if Rhys learned Lyle had ruined his wedding. Lyle didn't seem to harbor hate for Orakians to the level that most of his countrymen showed.

You're probably right. It's a shame we don't have more dialogue in that game. I demand a proper remake of PSIII that will do the story justice!

I think that Lyle was perhaps a bio-monster if we had to categorize him as anything, though I don't really look at him as such. It's the best explanation if you ask me, since there could have been bio-engineering back in the Devastation War, and those descended from people who could transform into dragons may have that power as well.

Another little thing that makes me think that it's not magic was when he carried Ayn and the others over to Techna, he used the last of his strength to do it and died shortly after landing. :( So to me that shows strength, though that's not to say that magic wasn't involved.

It may have been magic, but when magic comes to mind, it doesn't involve strength, to me anyways. However, there is the strength of the mind and spirit...so that could've played a role.

I'm not sure what to go with here. Now I'm going in circles with my own logic. I guess, for all we know, it could've been a combination of both.

Well, I was wanting to wait until I get some more things done, but I'm working on it. ;)

At the moment I'm trying to get the basics down, so I'm not really in any rush to say that it will be, for a fact, done at all. Depends on if I can pull this off or not. I have plans, big plans! :O

So whenever I'm satisfied with what I have, I'll be sure to let you guys know. :D

It makes sense that if they could build spaceships that had many habitable living areas that they'd also have the technology to build a Biosystems lab like on Motavia.

Sounds great! To me, the story was always the portion of the game that needed the most help. I'll be interested to here of your progress.

IIRC, there was a fan fic that suggested that the robot factories did still exist and function (I think one writer suggested that the Power Topaz was used to power the machines or something) at the time of the events in the game, even though they explicitly appear in the game. I think the fact that needlers and shots and laser swords were available in most stores shows that such items were still being manufactured and thus the technology still existed...unless the owners had simply found said goods while scavenging and the items were incredibly durable. But if they were manufactured, then the Alisa III hadn't totally reverted back to a feudal state, just partially.
