I would say in the Rika vs. Alys...Rika

Number 1. She has great agility so dodging Alys's slashers would be no problem.

Number 2. Her varity of claws give her an adventage over the minimal weapons Alys can be equipt with as she isn't around for very long.

Number 3. Her range of skills and tecniques come in handy for close up attacks example: Eliminate and Disrupt would do great damage.

Number 4. I like Rika more than Alys. So I'd take Rika's side over any other other ps chick anyday

Hope that helped you a bit Rune.

Rune vs. Chaz:
From what I've played; I think that Rune could decimate Chaz with his powerful magic. Not to say that Chaz is a pushover, but Rune seemed just that awesome to me. Then again, I'm probably bias.

Rika vs. Alys:
Since Alys is designed to leave the party pretty early in the game, Rika could definitely best her gamewise. Storywise, I'd imagine Alys. She is a self sufficient hunter after all!

Wren vs. Rune:
I want to say Rune! :hyper: ...But I can't really, since I've yet to see Wren in action.

Wren vs. Chaz:
See above.

[face=Times New Roman]This question is just too darn hard, hon. :? So I’m going to what I usually do, and cover my indecisiveness by asking numerous questions.

1. If they had a mild, amiable scuffle then the fighting characters would come out on top, because one isn’t likely to use magic against a friend. Is this a proper fight, no holds barred?
2. Within each sparring duo, are both characters at the same level?
3. At roughly which level are they? Has Chaz acquired Elsydeon or learned Megid? (Run for the hills!)
4. Do characters who lack healing spells (like Alys) have access to Trimate in their inventory?

But feel free not to answer, since I’ll probably still dither.

Rune vs. Chaz
Probably Chaz. He has healing techs and more HP to soak up damage. I think they're about even in damage dealing potential, but Chaz will be able to hold out a bit longer due to Rune's lower HP and lack of restoration.

Rika vs. Alys
Rika, again because of the healing techs. They're about evenly matched in ability (game plot points ignored) otherwise.

Wren vs. Rune
Wren - the Barrier skill will dull the effectiveness of Rune's magic, plus the Recover tech will undo whatever damage Rune can dish out.

Wren vs. Chaz
This could go either way. Two big damage dealers with lots of recovery potential. I think Wren has a slight edge in that he can protect against Chaz's techs with Barrier. Even so, I'm not sure it's enough to take it.

[face=Times New Roman]Yes, that’s exactly what I was thinking: the characters without healing spells are at a disadvantage, unless they have access to Trimate, etc.

Although I’ve always felt that Rune Walsh might be holding out on us. When Chaz is in the cavern of the sacred sword, on his way to meet with Elsydeon, he can retrace his steps to the entrance at any point. Wren, Rika and Rune are standing there. Rika tells Chaz to pull himself together, while Rune offers to heal him. (“Here, let me heal you.”)

Furthermore, when Rune does heal Chaz, he succeeds in restoring all his HP, all his TP, and even his full complement of skills in one go – something that even Raja cannot do.

Thoughts, anyone?

[I had to find a way round that in fanfiction. I’ve portrayed Rune as having healing techniques, but refusing in general to use them because he specialises in attack magic. He prefers to impress with his slick, formidable attack spells than risk appearing inexpert with under-practised healing techniques (powerful as they evidently are). If anyone has an alternative explanation, I’d be very keen to hear it.]

[face=Times New Roman]As is Rune_Walsh (as you can tell from her choice of handle  )

I suspect the classic profile and attitude have as much to do with it as his amazing spells... :D

For the Wren vs. Chaz I would have to say Wren.

HP wise Wren is the only characater in PSIV who can reach a HP of 999 giving him a huge lead all ready.
Secondly Wren's healing techniques are stonger than anyone elses in the game. Other techs and skills only heal a certain percentage of damage Wren's can heal up to 100% near abouts.

This third option isn't game wise but projectile shooting weapons can be sniped and destroy an oppoent form a distance were as swords require a close range attack.

Well thats my opinion anyways
