I'd hope that you wouldn't be into generic anything. There's not enough time in the world to focus on the generic stuff so I'd hope more people would try to find stuff that's interesting, regardless if it's literary fiction/sci-fi/fantasy/non-fiction/etc.

I mean, I've read some lit fiction that was every bit as generic and dull as your average fantasy novel.

We can't all like the same stuff.

Yeah, that's basically how I feel. Thankfully, South Park is around to do brilliant and irreverent parodies. Which they did last fall with a great take on the Black Friday phenomenon.

I also might split this topic again. >_>

However, it's technically sound so I'm not going to call it bad, but I've never been able to really enjoy the LOTR books that much.

Yes, I'm going to massacre you ! why ? we are not "condemned" to love all ! Me I love his style but I can understand people who don't like it :)

Yes, I forgot to massacre Hukos as well, ha ha. We are deadly at Fringes of Algo. But yeah, Hukos, I hear you on the boring literary fiction, I used to pick up some lit magazines a few years back when I was trying to get poetry published and some of that stuff nearly put me in a coma. I like beautiful writing, but the author has to give the reader a reason to care, too.

Ooh I'd love to have some poetry of mine published one day, but I live in a rural town so I'm not really aware of any magazines that run that kind of thing.
