Current Pope Francis is asking for prayers for retired Pope Benedict as Benedict is very sick:

Benedict's funeral will be this coming Thursday. His body will lie in display starting on Monday. Current Pope Francis will preside over the funeral.

I can remember watching on tv the funerals of other Popes and the choosing of a new Pope later. That won't happen this time since Pope Francis still reigns.
