April 03, 1860 is when the Pony Express began and this year of 2015 is celebrated as the 155th Anniversary of the Pony Express. Google has a cute little tribute to the day, just click on the icon on their page:

Mail delivery made a huge step with the Pony Express and we would probably not be where we are today (email, texting, etc.) without this forerunner of mail delivery, etc. So, let's remember all those brave Pony Express riders who fought the elements, and many other things with some of them probably even losing their lives so the mail could be delivered safely and on time.
