Bought one just two days after the PSO2 announcement. The used market is flooded with them right now because there aren't any must have games out for it yet. Can get yourself a fantastic deal on a used one if you buy now. Got mine with all of the original packaging, one game (Asphalt Injection) and a 4GB memory card for $200. Manager at the GameStop I frequent was telling me that the lack of a must have "killer ap/game" is ruining system sales. Said corporate had run sale and trade-in reports and discovered the average person only keeps the Vita for three weeks before trading it in or selling it back to GameStop. Bottom line, it's a buyer's market! :)

I do have a very serious complaint about the system's charging ability though. Even though the data/charge cable is a USB cable, the system will only accept a charge from it's AC adaptor due to built-in digital product signage. In other words, the AC adaptor isn't just passing along power, it's constantly communicating with the system to let it know "I'm an authentic Sony product". If you plug the USB cable into any other charger or PC port capable of charging the Vita simply will not accept the power. And my reason for knowing this? <sigh> Because both I and the only other person I know who own a Vita have already lost the chargers. :yell:

Hard about the charging process...but after the PSP 3 hours charge for three hours of play (on a VERY large scale) it's hard to bear...
Yes, like a lot of machines, the first games are often "light".

Wow, that's terrible about the charger. It seems like Sony wants to eliminate third party accessories if they're building chargers with that capability. I hope they do incorporate such tech into controllers in the future. I thought Nintendo lost a lawsuit over attempts to prevent third party add-ons like that years ago.

I can't understand why companies always do this about game lauches. A long hiatus without good games is always harmful, but companies seem to never learn. That happened with 3DS, which only started to sell well after Mario games were released, Vita had a good lauching line-up, but it has been months since nothing other than ports surfaced.

I don't know why the companies don't work with game developers in order to make a significant release each month during the first year of the console to keep the hype up. Then, they would have an installed base strong enough to stop caring about the risk of flopping.
A person only sees and hears what he wants to see and hear and disregards the rest.

The slim model which possesses not an OLED screen. Nay, in typical Sony tradtion the screen on the slim model has been downgraded to that of a mere LCD. Go look up the side by side comparissons on YouTube.

It's kind of the same thing they did with the PSP 3000. The screen just didn't look as good as the PSP 2000. This is one of the reasons I'm trying to snag a Vita now before the OLED models are all gone.
