PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (for PS3)

Postby Lucas » Fri May 4, '12, 11:57 am

Well this seems to be Sony’s attempt at a Super Smash Bros game :blank: . It’s too early for me to really judge anything and I wouldn’t want to make any final impressions until I actually play it, but I’d be happy if Sony does this right, it may actually turn out to be a fun game.

It’ll also be interesting to see what Sony mascots get thrown into this, as I only know a handful unlike Nintendo’s mascot characters. As always time reveals all.

If Ratchet and/or Spyro are included, I'm sold.
Next Pokemon game(s): Pearl
Last finished Pokémon game: Shield
Other games: Skyrim Special Edition (Switch), Spyro Reignited Trilogy (Switch & PS4), Okami (Switch & PS4)
Other gaming goals: completing a Living Pokedex (minus some event Pokes) and going through at least 1 game per generation

It'll be interesting to see who all is picked for inclusion. There's such a wide range of characters available.

Funnily enough EB Games Australia has already opened a pre-order page for this game, and announced pricing at $88.00AUD and it’s not even been given a staple release date yet, let alone near completion. Made me laugh a bit.

I was also thinking how’d I love to see Croc or Gex make it into this game, neither of those two guys have appeared in the video game industry for years. Fingers crossed. ;)

I'm not much into fighting games, but those "all-star" games, no matter how good people say it is, for me it is just a way of cashing extra bucks without effort.

It doesn't mean that the game mechanics cannot be good, but I'm not buying just because they lumped characters from the games I like, with an usual ludicrous argument. Instead of being an attractive feature, it ends being a letdown.

SONY SMASH BROS!

erm... Yeah, I hope they bring out some characters like Spyro(the Dragon), Crash (Bandicoot), Nathan Drake (Uncharted), Flint (Alundra 2), and maybe even someone from Resident Evil.

It looks exactly like Smash Bros., but with PlayStation mascots.
Too bad I'm not into PlayStation though.

This game clearly flopped at its release. I think it was price dropped within a month of release, and for all the hype, just quickly faded away. But now, it's one of the PS Plus freebies for this month (September 2014), so I figure as a PS Plus subscriber, what the hey. I've downloaded it on both my PS3 and Vita. Who knows when I'll actually give it a go, but there it is. I am at least willing to admit that whenever I do try it, I look forward to trying out Ratchet.
