Phantasy Star Sequal (my fangame)

So.. some bad news.
Sega seen some videos i had on youtube and they slammed me with a cease and desist order or a CAD.
So i am having to rethink my game... it might end up being more original and have NOTHING to do with Phantasy Star at this point.. which means all the music i made has been a waste of time.. the graphics work.. a waste of time.
Cause now i have to try something TOTALLY original.. and sadly i can't compose music...
So i am screwed at this point...

Oops-I mean, I had nothing to do with it. This time. At all.

Well, I think at the point it's trolling... I'm going to keep working on it unless someone from sega marches up to my front door demanding I stop, I'm going to consider it someone trolling.

A little update and an explanation.

I'm uprezing things, in some cases that means just replacing the old graphics with some that are new.
The houses in the pic though, done by hand.
And I decided to go the PS1 rout with this game, so battles will be first person, as with dungeons.
I just really miss PS1 on the Master System.. or rather.. I wish SEGA had just made a sequel using that old set up, but they never did.

I thought i would show this.
Since i am upressing graphics anyhow, figured i should make a new title screen.

Okay so like.. this is the battle system so far with all it's high rez goodness.

I used some stuff from PSG1 and 2.
But the main character you see there before you was hand drawn by yours truly in photo shop... it was NOT easy at all.
Very time consuming actually.
Oh yeah, and I made those high res monster flys.

Here is a bit of proof of concept, or rather I guess that's what it would be called..

The larger version is how I drew him and painted him in photoshop.
So basically after drawing him up about 500% bigger than he needs to be, I shrink him down in photoshop using a basic bilinier filter, and it ends up looking pretty good.
In fact, that's how I WAS doing my buildings.... but decided against it, specially after figuring out how to rip graphics from PS Generation 1 and 2.. after that I dropped the old graphics I had been working on... you will see what I have managed later on.

Another little update.
Something i have managed to do here recently.
I found some tools to help me rip sound effects a little easier from sega games.
So i managed to FINALLY nab the enemy death sound from PS4.
I love that sound.
Going to rip some more sounds i think.
I know it's not much of an update, but figured i would bring it up.
It's a big deal to me because i kept wrecking my brain over it till now.
So it's like a huge weight has been lifted and i feel pretty good.
