Phantasy Star IV: The Shattered Sword

With a mighty crash, the blade of the sacred sword Elsydeon shatters! In response to the danger of the time warp and collapsing pocket dimension, the power of past heroes stored in the blade breaks free. While this no doubt saves the lives of our heroes, it also means the sword will never again be wielded against evil. For the sake of Algo, we should hope that the Profound Darkness is truly defeated once and for all, because now there is no weapon capable of defeating it again.

If it were the protectors' souls that constructed Elsydeon's blade, then, when Rune return the hilt to Alis-statue’s hands, the same protectors will return to esper-cave and the sword will be restored again… it could take some time (maybe 1000 years).

That’s because I think Elsydeon’s blade was the materialization of protector’s souls. If that’s the case, the sword didn’t truly break... or at least I want to believe in this because I love that sword so much… it would be a pity if it never appeared again.

I'm with you on this Newsblade, I also believe that the souls were what made the blade. Considering Chaz still has the hilt of the weapon when they leave the edge he, or Rune could always have a blacksmith forge another blade onto the hilt and then place it back in Esper Mansion where the souls/spirits of Chaz Rika Rune Kyra Demi Hahn Wren Gryz and Raja would return to the blade after their death. (Yes I also added Demi and Wren even though they are androids I believe the great light would also give them a soul/spirit after their functions stopped just so the blade would have more power)

Elsydeon shatters!

I'm okay with Newsblade too ! I think for very long time now that Elsydeon has shattered BUT that the souls of all the old Protectors will be forming a new blade for Elsydeon soon !
