The first meeting of Chaz and Rune does not go very smoothly. Almost immediately, Rune starts to tease Chaz about his height, giving the young Hunter the nickname "Shorty." Even standing among the charred ruins of Molcum, the wizard is cordial to his old friend Alys and helpful to Hahn, providing an alternate destination to the search for Alshline. He takes advantage of Chaz's obvious distrust - or perhaps jealousy over Alys' attention - to get under the younger man's skin more than once.
