Phantasy Star IV: Rykros Appears

As the Landale approaches the mysterious Rykros, the Aero-Prism suddenly reveals a planet along the path of our heroes. After a lot of build up to this moment, we finally get our first real look at Rykros. When you first saw this, what was your reaction? Were you expecting an entire planet to appear?

This scene is the same one used for the Landale flying through space on the approach to Rykros. A few scenes are shown after that, then Rykros fades into the original scene, producing this.
