In Electronic Gaming Monthly's Making of Phantasy Star IV article, character artwork for many of the characters was revealed to US readers for the first time. Around 1997, I extracted Rika from the scans of the article, as seen here. I had planned to do the same for all the characters, but it was much too involved and time consuming back then. Fortunately, most of the character artwork in the article has been included in more recent books and games, making better versions easier to locate.

She seems to have been the most popular among the Sega artists, at least. There's a lot more artwork for Rika than for any other character. Rune and Chaz are probably the closest behind Rika in those terms.
