After a long climb, the heroic adventurers found and freed Demi at the top of Zio's fortress. Before they could make their escape, Zio himself appeared and challenged them to battle. It was a decidedly one sided fight, ending only when the evil wizard called on his deadly Black Energy Wave spell. When he uses that attack, the battle ends and the game cuts to this scene, showing the Black Energy Wave as it strikes Alys. Zio was aiming for Chaz actually, but the elder Hunter blocked the attack with her own body.

Brave, noble Alys... One of the reasons why I admire her so. So willing to sacrifice herself for the sake of others without even giving it a second thought.... If only Stumpy/Shorty was a bit faster. Gives me another reason to hate him.

Why Sega?! Why? :x

I suppose everything happens for a reason, doesn't it? :(

 ( Just kidding, I'm not really crying. )

Heh, I don't mind the fact that Chaz was still alive. I get the feeling that the scene wouldn't be near as emotional if Chaz was the one who perished.

Hmmm...you know, Darkil, you raise a very good point. At that point in the game, I'm not sure if Chaz has shown many qualities that a player could get attached to, as he's been mostly in the background annoying you.

When I found people at Reshel getting ill and, after they died, turned into Zombies because of the black energy wave coming from Garumbek Tower, I thought Alys would return as a Zombie (since it was basically the same illness) to fight us when we reach Motavia... instead she returned as an illusion.

Bumping up this former Image Of The Day!

An amazing image of a very brave Alys intercepting an attack meant for her friend and teammate Chaz! Remarkable detail in this image. Bravo!!
