Phantasy Star Collection (Saturn): Motavia at Night

Postby Thoul » Mon Mar 23, '09, 12:18 pm

The piece of artwork was published in the North American manual for Phantasy Star IV. It is somewhat too dark here; details are hard to make out. It * a nighttime scene based on Motavia, but it would be nice if we could make out that stuff in the background.

I can only guess that the white circle in the upper right is the moon. And if it is...why is there a mountain behind it? :blank:

Maybe it's a Sattelite base instead of the actual moon?

This reminds me of a song.

Gryz (singing): o/` O I come from a faraway place, where the caravan sandworms roam
Where [it's flat and immense, and the heat is intense]
It's barbaric, but hey, it's home
When the wind's from the east, and the sun's from the west, and the sand in the glass is right
So come on down, stop on by, hop a Transer and fly
To another Motavian niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight

Motavian niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiights like Motavian daaaaaaaaaays
More often than not, are hotter than hot, in a lot of good waaaaaaaaays
Motavian niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiights 'neath Motavian mooooooooons
A fool off his guard could fall and fall hard
Out there on the duuuuuuuuuunes o/`

Rika: Wow, Gryz, you've got some pipes! You should be a singer after we deal with Zio! ^_^
Gryz: Hey, I try, what can I say.
Chaz: Oooh! Oooh! Can you do "Prince Rudo?!"
Gryz: (flatly) No, Chaz. I can't do "Prince Rudo." You made that one up.

The stuff in the background looks like natural constructs. Odd shaped mountains maybe. As for the moon object being inside the atmosphere of Mota... :blank: that's got me kinda stumped.

Bumping up this former Image Of The Day!

An interesting look at Motavia at night!

Hmm, that white circle does look like a moon to me. But why do the rocks or mountains (or whatever they are) appear to have other images in them or on them? A tad confusing.
