"I'm going to live by my own will!" That is Chaz's declaration to Le Roof. Chaz has chosen not to fight for the Great Light and heads off to the Landale. His business at Rykros is finished - or so he thinks - and it is time to leave. It is very rare for us to see his back in any of the cutscenes. In the context of the whole scene, this is a powerful image.
