Phantasy Star III: The New Dawn

Ok first of all, yes I'm letting everyone know that I gave up on my other project.. But I'm not giving up on making the game altogether.. In fact, I'm in the process of making Phantasy Star III using rpgmaker. Yes I know, there have been a few shallow attempts at this game but I want everyone to know that I'm putting my full focus on this project..

Basically the game is going to be similar to the original Genesis version, except there will be quite a bit more story, sidequests, and the game will be more indepth then the original. So far I've got the story worked out, as well as the battle system (Thanks Lyla).. Only thing I need left is the menu, I'm debating on using Mogs menu or not, only cause the battle system has quite a few problems with my 5 party member menu.

No artwork for the project yet, as I'm working on spriting characters and battlers, but I will be attempting to draw the characters when I get some free time, otherwise I may have to petition someone to do the artwork for me lol..

There will be more story with Rhys and Maia, as well as Rhys and Lena.. Giving insight onto why Lena follows Rhys in his journey, as well as certain points before the game where Rhys and Maia spend their days together. Included in my post is a small screenshot of something that will be put in the game..

PLEASE use Capowski's translation of Phantasy Star 3.

The english script left so many damn details out. In fact, when you compare it, the english one makes even less sense than Transformers Revenge of the Fallen did!

Hell, Half Blood Prince movie made more sense than Revenge of the fallen XD

Anyways, I only ask you to use what Capowski translated because we need those details!

I'm very, very impressed Kal. Amazing work. A vast improvement over your previous demo. It looks like you timed the beautiful music to run with the sequence.

Okay heres my little check list for what I've accomplished so far.

Castle Landen: Working Process

I've added a screenshot from the beginning of the game. Instead of Rhys just randomly standing in town he's gazing off a cliff, just outside of Landen. Why was he in town? What reason did it serve other then to make us walk to the castle. I think this seems a bit better and gives Rhys some personality.

You know, I really feel like showing the world map, despite it not being finished yet. But that's Kaloes's call.

Either way, there is alot more to do before even a simple demo is out.

Even without Kaloes' consent, I'm showing this to you guys. Cause I'm awesome like that. =P

But after coloring this image in a new way after Kaloes drew it, I just thought you guys had to see it so... yeah...

Neat, hopefully Maia and Alair will be playable at some point. It would be nice to see a beast or two party members too, since there were only the cyborgs in the original.
