Many years after the marriage of Ayn and Thea, they rule Azura, the new home of the survivors of Siren's attack on Cille and Shusoran. This particular scene is from the last day of Azura's long service to the Alisa III. Strange flashes of light - which were in fact weapons fire - strike the moon, causing explosions. Ayn sends his son, Sean, with Wren and Mieu to flee to Landen. Ayn and Thea choose to remain behind, effectively committing suicide. None of the other inhabitants of Azura are allowed to leave either. Sean is cast into the world as the last survivor.
