Phantasy Star: Fringes of Algo

Years ago, I tackled a project of creating walking animations for all the major characters of Phantasy Star III. It took quite a long time to rip all the sprites from the game and even more to reassemble them in an animation that closely mimicked their gaming timing, but I eventually finished them all. This animation of Gwyn walking right was a result of that project.

They really gave Gwyn an unfortunate hair color, didn't they? What is it, anyway? Chartreuse? Too bad she couldn't have had her own unique sprite.

I'm reviving this thread because I've been playing through PSIII and just discovered that this is also the walking sprite used for little sister Laya in Crys's quest. Seriously! I'm looking right at her, and Laya's hair is that weird shade of green just like Gwyn's. I guess I never noticed it before.

I tried to take a picture of the game on my TV, but that of course didn't work out too well.

I really think they used the Gwyn-colored Laya sprite for Gwyn and Laya in the third generation.

Looking at the videos, I have to agree. That does look more like Gwyn's sprite.
